PARTNERSHIPS AND STRATEGY OFFICER
Motor Vehicles Insurance Limited (MVIL) is a State-Owned Enterprise that provides Compulsory Third-Party Insurance to all vehicle owners in Papua New Guinea. MVIL is now looking to recruit a highly- capable and experienced Partnerships & Strategy Officer to be based at our Head Office in Port Moresby.
This position reports to the Corporate Customer Service Manager and the Partnerships & Strategy officer is expected to have some experience and exposure in supporting policy dialogue and engagement with Government of PNG agencies and the private sector, managing collaborative arrangement through Memorandum of Understandings & Agreement, strategic planning/management and change management; and research and analysis. This role provides support to MVIL’s business units and act as an intermediary to external stakeholders on matters of mutual interest and those that concern the core business of MVIL.
You will be expected to:
- Support the Division’s overall effort and plans to translate Government and Company policy decisions into pragmatic work plans and projects and be involved directly in implementing key tasks;
- Assist the Division’s effort to establish Memorandum of Understandings and/or Agreements with key external stakeholders where these addresses issues of mutual benefit pertaining to MVIL’s core business;
- Undertake research and analysis into potential strategic initiatives and bottlenecks and provide recommendations and/or develop tools to enhance the efficacy and effectiveness of the functions of MVIL’s business units;
- Support internal and external working arrangements and processes that enhance MVIL’s compulsory third-party insurance and claims administration services at the national and provincial level;
- Liaise closely with MVIL’s Business Units to support MVIL’s implementation of the amended MVIL Act 2021.
Preferred skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Minimum of three (3) years' work experience, particularly supporting improvements in business operation and efforts aimed at developing and sustaining external partnership networks;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy, Business Administration, Economics, or a related Social Science field;
- Good understanding of Government of PNG systems and process and business operations of MVIL;
- Integrity and Ethics is a must;
- A self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills;
- Good organizational skills with focus on timely and quality results;
- Possess research and analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Microsoft conversant and a team player;
