This position reports to the Finance Manager and is involved in the preparation of financial statements and reports, and contributes to advising MVIL Management on budgeting, investment practices, and the development of appropriate financial strategies.
You will be expected to:
- Manage and report on the company's financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial information for decision-making.
- Manage monthly GL postings / journals and reconciliations.
- Prepare and lodge monthly compliance requirements including, PAYE, GST, Superannuation.
- Prepare annual consolidated financial statements, tax and training levy returns, annual returns
- Review / prepare annual audit files.
- Identify, develop, implement and maintain processes aimed at efficient financial accounting and implement improvements where necessary.
- Provide financial advice by studying operational issues, applying financial principles and practices and developing recommendations.
- Develop monthly forecasts in line with annual budget.
- Keep track of financial accounting activities being undertaken and report to Management on a monthly basis.
Preferred skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Minimum of 5 years' related-work experience.
- Have team leadership experience and be able to work with all levels of staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline.
- Integrity and Ethics is a must.
- Experience with Pronto Systems Finance Module.
- Positive attitude and strong skills in MS Office Suite.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- A team player and ability to work under pressure, priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong organization and people management skills.
