MVIL Formally Launches Workplace Disability Inclusion Policy

Disability Inclusion

PORT MORESBY — Motor Vehicles Insurance Limited (MVIL) has marked a major corporate milestone with the official launch of its Workplace Disability Inclusion Policy.

The framework formally incorporates critical government directives into MVIL’s long-term corporate strategy, making it a leading State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) to adopt this comprehensive approach to workforce diversity.

The launch was led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Bafino Koi and Human Resource Manager Mr. Samuel Kiele. To mark the occasion, the management team officially welcomed Mr. Western Branson, the first Person Living With Disability (PLWD) recruited under the newly established program.

During the launching ceremony in Port Moresby, Mr. Koi commended MVIL’s Human Resource Department for driving the concept and integrating it into MVIL’s Workplace Policy and Corporate Plan.

"The Workplace Disability Inclusion Policy aims to give opportunities to people with special needs, who are equally qualified and have the potential to contribute meaningfully to nation-building," Mr. Koi stated.

Reflecting on national statistics, Mr. Koi reiterated that there are nearly one million Persons Living with Disabilities in Papua New Guinea, who are capable of leading productive, independent lives. "These individuals possess the capabilities to excel when provided the right opportunities. MVIL is proud to have recruited its first PLWD under this policy," he added.

Moving forward, the Human Resource Department will lead the ongoing management and execution of this program. Mr. Koi challenged all MVIL employees to embed these practices into daily operations, fostering a corporate culture rooted in respect, mutual support, and equal consideration for all colleagues.
